Old Age
Coming from a background of helping caring for her family, Sue now doing well, middle aged children grown up, still healthy a few minor ailments nothing that doesn’t come with age. She thought of romance or maybe a companion for her senior years. Friends told of a web site she should go on. Sue being Sue tried this for real. New to this she put her picture up and let it roll as it was to say.
She got over a hundred likes, she wondered who it was until, a sea of silver surfers to her shock. Men who reminded her of her dad, grey hair, old men trousers, weather worn faces smiling. No attempt for even dyed hair, nothing. Sue didn’t know where to look, picture after picture it was like a sea of grandads. Some even had their health conditions written down. She took a look and was in shock. Did they even have their own teeth and wondered the thought of being in a relationship with them. She thought how she would be left caring for them cooking and cleaning. She thought she could come to some sort of arrangement keep your house and I will mine, but would that work. Maybe. They all looked like they were requiring a care nurse.
She tried to chat to one of the profiles and she just asked a question do you have any hobbies the profile stated he has so many ailments he has not time.
That pushed Sue she quietly took her profile off the site and closed account.
So, now off Sue went quietly laughing at her experience and thinking she is better on her own enjoying what life brings enjoying her freedom. Afterall hopes she doesn’t become a burden on anyone else.
