MY GIFT

Dancing for me started with a neighbor named Dwight. I went over just to ride our bikes. Dwight was in the garage Tap dancing and immediately I felt in my heart, this something I wanted to start. Dwight showed me some Riffs but I didn't realize he was actually showing me MY GIFT. With four boys and one girl, my parents gave my sister a chance to give dancing a whirl. One day I went to watch and when I came home I knew everything that was taught. A short time later my sister dropped out, so I asked without any doubts. Can I try dancing and the family all laughed about. To class I was sent, determined to prove it was money well spent. My parents couldn't afford Tap shoes and the studio didn't have any that I could use. In my first class there wasn't a step that I couldn't do. Glen, my teacher walked over to my mom and said, you should buy him some Tap shoes. Other parents watching with my mom asked oh, by the way how long has Scotty been dancing? Prouldly she answered, this is his first day. I studied hard and reached a level where now I teach. I've become a teacher and touched many lives. I see the joy and happiness in their eyes. That afternoon at Dwights learning to do a riff was the start and discovery that Dancing and Teaching Tap has always been my gift. 5-6-7-8 Mr.Shuffles
