Mildred the lonely Octupus
Mildred sat on the bottom of the ocean and felt so alone. She extended her long tenticles and stared into the blue sea ahead. She wished she could make friends but didn't know how to.
One day, she decided to introduce herself to the marine life around her. She saw a small fish swimming by and said hello fishy, my name is Mildred. The fish screamed and swam away. Mildred sighed and felt sad. “I'll never make any new friends.” she declared.
Lonely and sad she tried to talk again to another fish, that was bright blue with yellow underneath. “Hello fishy” said Mildred. The fish looked at Mildred and screamed and swam fast, away from Mildred. Again, Mildred sighed and frowned. “Why doesn't anyone like me?” she thought.
She decided to take a nap on the soft sand at the bottom. She'll try again tomorrow, she thought and felt happy.
The next day a small pretty fish swam by her with pink and red around the fish. “Hi”! Mildred said. The fish stopped and starred at her. “Did you say something to me?”, the fish replied in surprise. “Sure, I did.” “Well, nobody usually says hello to me, cried the fish.” “You are not alone, Mildred cried.
The fish and Mildred became best friends.
