JUST LIKE A DREAM

I met tejiri at a fast food center, she wears smiles with radiance like the sun and her teeth were sets of silver. Her black glitters like a cobra in the sun. I walked to her over the counter and said.. "please I want two plates of fried rice , chicken on both plates and 2 Hollandia yogurt ". Please, I will be on table four. In about 7 minutes I saw what the counter was hiding, her full figure. She's the slim waist , big behind the famous rapper ERRIGHA sang about. She didn't put effort to get guest on the tables to take turns and stare at her. One lady threw her a compliment, "na Sunday God create you". And yet another added. "See how you fine like 2 people". She laughed again as she walks to my table, carrying the tray of what I ordered. She got to my table and dropped the order and added.. that would be 7k. As I pulled out my wallet to pay she noticed I was alone on the table so she curiously asked " bros , where your babe na?". I said oh! I came alone. She continued.. "why you con buy two plates na?". I told her the second order was her's. She smiled in appreciation and said thanks. I asked for her number and she said.. "sir.. not now.. not today". I ate the food with my eyes seeking her out as she did her duties that evening. I made that fast food center my favorite, because Tejiri was always there for me to look at. Weeks became months and the friendship grew to what I wanted. We became lovers, but there's always the other side to things you see from the outside. It's been a year, we had our share of love and affection. I never even thought It would take that long before we settled down. The love I had for Tejiri made me wait. I kept on demanding to meet her parents, she said it's not yet time, it was a year and 2 months and still no hope of her letting me meet her parents. I asked her one more time, she said we should pray about it. I had what a woman needs, I am gracefully employed, a place I call home and I had even established a business for her which she runs. I tried to see reasons why she's saying no, I found none. On one of my evening stroll, I met Afoke, she's not as blessed as Tejiri but she's still warm in her face and sturdy on her feet, we exchanged pleasantries and contacts. I opened up to Afoke what I had in mind. I needed a wife and nothing more, without delay we met her parents and in not less than 3 months we were set to get married. When Tejiri saw our pre-wedding photo, she was in shock and said to me over the telephone that I disappointed her. I told her.. "I am Mr Felix Efetobo, I am not Amaka , I don't disappoint". It's sad I am telling this story because I actually loved Tejiri but she was still a boiling water, she was still young and restless not ready to settle down. She was there the day Afoke and I got married and it was to her just like a dream.
