GOOD VERSUS EVIL
It was said that the fight between good and evil had been encircling the earth since the beginning of time.
Penumbra, the evil spirit of darkness, was a rival of his twin sister, Crystalline, the spirit of light and all that is good.
Penumbra wickedly undermined and corrupted mortals’ whereever he could so that they would lie, cheat, steal and even murder one another. He would lure them with his deception to break a human’s spirit of goodness then would snatch their evil souls for his purpose of destroying Crystalline. Each soul was transformed into thick gloomy black and gray clouds that loomed over the land and water. Not being satisfied with those who were morally influenced by Crystalline, made him even more resentful and threatening. He proclaimed that with each new soul that he snared, a disaster would occur. Lightning struck buildings burning all who abide to the ground. Hurricanes and tornadoes whirled fiercely sucking up then spitting out everything in its path. Volcanoes hurled and blasted out red melted rock turning everything in its path into fossil form. Hailstones destroyed and beat down crops and whatever it struck then melted into floodwaters. Penumbra abused creation on earth for thousands of generations corrupting and conquering as many souls that he could.
Crystalline was frustrated with her evil twin; however, did not give up. With each violent storm that Penumbra provoked, she would intercept the hateful clouds with a wave of her hand they were dispersed into smaller helpless haze. This would make room for all of the good, devoted souls that she homed. She tried to counter act each disaster but it was too far-gone to prevent the pain and suffering that she could feel deep within her soul. She pleaded with her wicked brother to stop his sinful ways but he just laughed and despised Crystalline’s good nature even more. Crystalline decided to give earth’s people a symbol of hope through nature’s beauty of a rainbow; all of the colors of earth and the universe in a bowed spectrum. After a storm, the sun shone through Crystalline as she stood arms out with the misty white souls at her side. The help of the sun’s spirit illuminously reflected Crystalline’s pureness. A display of a brilliant archway of colors on earth reflected blue, yellow and red the primary colors that we know today. Blue represents truth, red compassion and yellow hope to endure. All the hues in between united and blend the three symbols in harmony. A rainbow is still seen today to give mankind hope to live in truth, compassion and tolerance the virtues of the universe.
