Everything I Touch Turns to Ash

Just a small town girl with big city dreams. I made it to college using little money schemes. But those dollars sure catch quick between all the takeout and paint and art sticks. As do the chopsticks and the canvas after a long sleepless night.

Heading to class the next day telling myself it will be alright. But I'd spent all my money on Chinese and my art project lay smoldering on the dorm room floor. Encouraging me not to give up, my professors give me chance once more.

Again I would apply paint to canvas. Only to ignite and explode then start all over again. This time trading the brush for a pen.

These words were good at making people burn instead. Which saved my paper. They lit fires in souls that were difficult to taper. I saw life inside eyes who thought once had died. For this feit I took great pride and continued my new path in brave stride.
