Days of Learning

Do you remember your school days.Who were your favorite teachers.Miss Upshaw and Mr.Martin were my favorite elementary teachers. Miss Upshaw was our grade seven teacher and guided the choir and we sang the Harry Belafonte songs "Long time ago in Bethlehem" and "Day Oh". Mr Martin was our gradre eight teacher.. I gave a class speech where I talked about my first day as a school teacher . I actually became a school teacher and taught for twenty-five years.I was awarded my twenty-five year pin from the Director of Education. I was photographed with the Director.. That was a very nice experience. My youngest son was my escort for the honorary dinner..

The secondary school years revealed a champion of sports. A fan of poetry I recited the poem "Tiger, tiger". where I won second prize in the English class.

I was on a champion relay team where we went to Maple Leaf Gardens. That was very exciting for me. Good memories.

My grandmother,a gifted seamtress sewed a beautiful blue dress with puffy sleeves for my Elementary graduation. For my Secondary school picture my grandmother sewed me a beautiful long pink dress with panels. Mother and father were my escorts.I was proud to receive my Secondary school diplome and to walk across the stage. Graduated to Toronto Teachers' College where I received my teachin certificate. and went onto to teach for twenty-five years.. Diversified and miraculous was this passage. I retired at fifty years of age. I am enjoying my retirement. I met the Director of Education and thanked him that we are well-cared for as teachers.

I continue to learn as a senior,My hobbies as a senior are writing and art. I was chosen for the William Shakespeare Award.I had my own Art Exhibit as a senior. My relatives blessed me their friendship. They are all good memories.
