Danny The Dolphin

In the Atlantic Ocean their lived a bottlenose dolphin named Danny. He was a happy go lucky playful fellow who enjoyed having a good time in the water since it was his home territory.

But everything changed one fateful July day. It started out like any other ordinary day for Danny. He left his dolphin clan to have some solitary time to himself out in the beautiful and peaceful ocean. Out in the distance was a fishing boat. Danny was usually aware of fishing boats and hid whenever he saw one but on this unfortunate day he was enjoying the bliss too much and was unaware of the boat that kept on venturing nearer and nearer to the lone dolphin.

Soon the boat was right beside the blissful unaware dolphin. Suddenly a large net swooshed into the water and picked up the dolphin.

Danny now aware that he had been captured struggled to escape but escape was useless as he was in the air and being hauled overboard onto the boat.

Men on the boat were excited with their capture. William, captain on the Wallwater had a grin on his face and playfully shoved Ben, a new time fisherman and also his work buddy as a journalist for the national post.

Never thought we would capture a dolphin did you? Said William.

No said Ben in a rough voice.

Well we’ll have to celebrate with some coffee when we get back ashore. Said William.

Adam another fisherman who worked as a librarian was unusually quiet on the Wallwater. Ben and William did not notice though as they were too excited about their capture.

Soon the Wallwater arrived ashore. The men went to a coffee shop and had some coffee as a celebration for capturing the dolphin and then head home.

That night Adam went back to the Wallwater and released Danny the Dolphin back into the ocean. He thought it was cruel to have captured the dolphin then he headed home packed up what little belongings he had and headed to Alaska.

Ben and William were mad when they found out the dolphin was missing but ended up realizing that dolphins belong in the ocean. They became dolphin activists.

And as for danny the dolphin well he stayed closes to his dolphin clan and did not ever venture off on his own again as he learned that safety is in numbers and not being alone out in the ocean.
