Daniel, did you love me? PART 1
PART 1
Once upon a time in a small, dusty town, there was a boy named Daniel. Daniel came from a poor family, his days filled with the struggle of making ends meet. Despite the hardships at home, Daniel excelled in school. He was known as the top student, always number one in his class. His academic brilliance was his escape from the harsh realities of his life, but it couldn’t shield him from the cruelty of his peers.
Daniel was often bullied. His clothes were worn and tattered, and his shoes were too small. The other kids made fun of him, calling him names and mocking his appearance. But there was one bright spot in his life—a girl named Emily. Emily came from a wealthy family and had everything that Daniel could only dream of. Her family was known for their luxury, and Emily herself was admired for her beauty and charm.
Daniel admired Emily from afar. He would spend sleepless nights thinking about her, wishing he could muster the courage to speak to her. The distance between their worlds seemed insurmountable, but he cherished the few moments they shared, even if they were fleeting and filled with unspoken words.
When high school graduation arrived, both Daniel and Emily had outstanding performances. They both stood out in their respective fields, their talents shining brightly despite the different paths their lives had taken. Daniel went on to a university far away, as did Emily. They tried to keep in touch, meeting occasionally, but the distance made their communication sporadic.
In university, Emily’s life took a turn Daniel couldn’t have foreseen. She began a relationship with a handsome and stylish university model and fashionista. Her feelings for Daniel slowly faded as she became entangled in this new relationship. She started lying to Daniel, telling him half-truths and hiding her infidelity. Her lies became more elaborate as she tried to balance her two worlds—one of pretense and another of betrayal.
Daniel, unaware of the full extent of Emily’s new life, had friends studying at the same university as Emily. They kept him informed about her activities, but Daniel chose to remain silent. He didn’t let on that he knew about her new relationship. He played along, pretending not to see the cracks in their once-cherished connection.
As graduation approached, Daniel and Emily’s paths crossed again. They celebrated their achievements, and soon after, an engagement party was held. To the outside world, it seemed like a perfect fairy tale. Emily was overjoyed, believing that Daniel was the perfect fool for her plans.
But the wedding day came, and the truth began to unravel. Emily continued her affair with the fashion model, convinced that Daniel was none the wiser. However, Daniel had always known more than she realized. As the day of the wedding approached, the truth about her double life became evident. Emily’s belief that she had outsmarted Daniel was shattered.
12 HOURS BEFORE THE WEDDING
Daniel slumped into a seat on the crowded public train, exhaustion etched on his face. The journey home was long, and the weight of the upcoming day seemed heavier with every mile. As the train clattered along the tracks, Daniel’s phone buzzed with a new message.
He glanced at the screen. It was from Joe, a stunning girl from his university who had harbored a crush on him for a long time. Her message was both hopeful and sorrowful, a testament to her deep feelings for him. Joe had always been understanding and supportive, but this time, her words carried a hint of desperation.
“I know you’re getting married soon,” Joe’s message read. “And I know you’re aware of Emily’s betrayal. I’ve always had feelings for you, feelings that are genuine. My family is wealthy, more so than Emily’s, and I wish you could see that you deserve someone who truly loves you. It hurts to see you with someone who doesn’t appreciate you, especially when I’ve been waiting for this chance to show you my love.”
Daniel sighed, his heart heavy. He had confided in Joe about his situation—how he knew Emily was cheating, and how the engagement party was a calculated move to expose her. Emily’s family, with their wealth, had occasionally helped him with his studies, creating a complex web of obligations and emotions.
Joe’s pain was palpable in her message. She had cried in her room for days, mourning the fact that the man she loved would marry someone who didn’t even come close to reciprocating his feelings. Yet, Daniel was not swayed. He had a plan, a strategy to turn the tables on Emily and expose her true colors. The engagement party was part of his game, a way to make her the pawn in her own trap.
As the train rattled on, Daniel’s thoughts turned to Emily. That very day, she was with Spencer, a handsome model, engaged in a final, intimate farewell. It was a poignant, albeit ironic, “goodbye” to the pawn who had been part of her elaborate ruse. Spencer, unaware of the drama unfolding, shared a moment of passion with Emily, marking the end of their affair before her wedding to Daniel.
Daniel wondered why Emily didn’t choose to marry Spencer instead and avoid all this drama. But he knew well enough that everyone has their own reasons, choices clouded by their desires and circumstances.
As the train approached his stop, Daniel felt a strange sense of satisfaction. He was about to walk into a wedding with eyes wide open, fully aware of the deceit and betrayal. Emily thought she had manipulated him into playing the fool, but in reality, she was the one about to face the consequences of her own schemes.
The world was indeed an intriguing place, full of unexpected twists and turns. Daniel was ready to face whatever came next, knowing that he had played the game as best as he could, and that he would soon reveal the truth of Emily’s deception to everyone.
MARRIAGE TIME
The grand hall was abuzz with excitement as guests gathered for the marriage of Daniel and Emily. It was a day of high expectations and vibrant celebrations. The ceremony was set to be a dazzling display, a union between a poor boy and a girl from an affluent family—a contrast that had captured the town’s attention and made this wedding a topic of public fascination.
The traditional Christian wedding began with the formal procedures. The priest, dressed in ornate vestments, prepared to lead the mass. Daniel’s parents and family were seated prominently, their faces a mixture of pride and nervousness. Friends and well-wishers filled the seats, alongside Emily’s wealthy relatives and friends, all eager to witness the spectacle.
As the priest approached the altar to commence the ceremony, Daniel stood up and took the microphone. “Today is a wonderful day. Be happy all of you,” he said, his voice resonating through the hall. The guests clapped enthusiastically, unaware of the deeper meaning behind his words.
The mass proceeded smoothly. The couple exchanged vows, their voices steady and clear as they promised to love and cherish each other. The church was filled with the fragrance of flowers and the sound of solemn hymns, creating an atmosphere of reverence and celebration.
After the mass, the scene shifted to the reception hall, where the festivities were set to begin. The whole town watched the live broadcast of the wedding, marveling at the grandeur of the event. It was a beautiful spectacle—a poor boy marrying into wealth, a story that captured everyone’s imagination.
As the guests settled into the hall, anticipation was high. Daniel took the microphone once more. “I want to say how much I love her,” he began, his voice filled with emotion. “She has been my inspiration, my light. I have loved her from the moment we met and will continue to love her every day.” The crowd responded with cheers and applause, their excitement palpable. Firecrackers burst in the air, adding to the festive atmosphere.
But then, Daniel’s tone shifted. “Because she showed me that I’m not worthy of her, I had to prove that I could be a better man.” The room fell silent, the weight of his words sinking in. Guests exchanged puzzled glances, unsure of what was happening.
Suddenly, Daniel stepped outside. The roar of engines and the sight of expensive cars drew everyone’s attention. In a dramatic turn, Joe, a stunning girl from Daniel’s university, appeared holding his hand. The crowd gasped in surprise. Emily’s mother, visibly shocked, nearly fainted.
Daniel approached the microphone again. “I found out about Emily’s infidelity from my friends who were studying at her university. They told me everything—the lies, the betrayal. I knew I had to act.”
He then walked over to Emily’s parents’ table and placed a large bag of money on it. “This is for helping me with my studies,” Daniel said. “I wanted to return this to you.”
The room erupted in a mix of astonished murmurs and whispers. Emily’s face turned pale as the reality of Daniel’s revelation hit her. The once-perfect façade of their union had crumbled, revealing the truth behind the glamorous wedding. Daniel had not only outsmarted her but also exposed her deception in front of everyone.
