Classic Salvation

My emotions were in turmoil. The poignancy and simple beauty washed over me and through me. I was transported to a time and a place that was safer and more appealing than the one I actually existed in. I hadn’t realised until that point how powerful and magical it was; how it could change a mood, influence a decision or even alter a life course.

I felt blessed and humbled and I felt mentally and emotionally safe. I had found salvation in the music of the great composers that I’d always sneered at before. Now it was saving my life.
