CARRY ON

CARRY ON
-------------
She wiped her tears of sadness and got up from her seat in the kitchen and walked upstairs to her lonely shelter- her room. She is all alone in the world having lost her husband recently. For him death was a great relief, blessing in disguise.

She feels that he is somewhere in the universe free of pain, watching her and guiding her.

Life was never cruel to her. She had a wonderful life and a long life with her husband. They were blessed with a son. Everything was fine till she became a widow.

Her son’s family wanted her to be with them. She went there and stayed for a few months. The first week itself she realised that she has made a mistake by leaving her country - life in the new place did not suit her.

They have their family to take care of. They led such a hectic life, they could not find time to talk to her or be with her. . She was always alone in the room, longing for the grand kids to get back from school. Her only happiness was her grand children. She did what she could to help her son’s family . She loved every member of her son’s family but she coul not adjust herself to the new environment.

She was happy the day she left for her country.

Being back in her own room in her own house , the room she had shared with her husband for nearly five decades brought tears to her eyes. she brushed them off and smiled to herself.

Once your better half is gone, neither son, nor daughter can take that place, let alone your in-laws and family members. They may try to shower you with material things and bestow love and affection but nothing will fill the void created in your life.

Life has to go on till you get your call to join the ones who have already gone.

So wipe your tears and carry on with your life.
