Bryans Angels

Once upon a time, in the land or Lost Angels, there lived a brave and just King. The king ruled his people well and fairly, and with love, but in his heart he had just one wish; his heart yearned to find just one Angel, and to show them how the land had changed and hopefully, they would come back and live among his people once more.

He remembered hearing stories about a better time, a time of joy; when there were angels and fairies, walking among men when little woodland critters roamed freely among people and all sorts of magical creatures and everyone was happy.

He was just a small prince at the time, and he dreamed of such happiness every night.

Every night he wished to fly, way up high on the back of a pegasus and see all the land below him … all those lush green hills and the deep blue crystal streams snaking through the valleys … oh how they flickered like sapphires in the warm sunshine.

The prince never told anyone about those dreams, he just quietly kept them in his heart, and promised himself, that one day he would go on a quest to find those angels, no matter what, he would never stop trying.

Days grew into months and months grew into years and the prince went on many adventures, he never gave up hope, he just kept searching.

Once the prince, now a regal King thought he had found his angel; she was so lovely, and she made his heart all warm and fuzzy.

He thought that this was it, he had finally completed his quest, and his hearts deepest wish was fulfilled, and for many years, the king and his angel were very very happy.

The king thought that it could never get better than this, every day was just better and better and before long they had two beautiful princesses.

One day the King was summoned by his Angel. She sat him down and explained that she was not in fact and angel but the Queen of the Fairies, sent here to see if he was worthy of angels, and now she had to go on her own adventure. The king was very sad, he really loved her and he missed her dearly, but still he let her go free.

Winter came and went, and the beautiful land grew sick and aching.

A ruling was made that everyone, even the king himself had to stay home to spend time with his loved ones and let the land heal.

The King was not pleased, he had his people to rule, but day by day, he watched his two princesses, and day by day he enjoyed sharing their love and laughter.

One day, after putting Princess Amelia into her cradle, King Bryan sat down next to Princess Nora’s bed and read her a bed time story.

He read until her lively eyes grew heavy, then read on until her eyes were closed and her breathing softened as she drifted into dreamland.

King Bryan put down his book but stayed a while, just watching Amelia sleep so peacefully, she was so beautiful … they were so beautiful … just like little Angels.

This thought struck King Bryan with amazement and he felt his heart fill with wonder and awe; the Queen Fairy had come to see if he was worthy, and when she left he didn’t know.

But what she had given him was more than his hearts deepest desire; she had given him not one, but two Angels, hiding as princesses … princess Nora and Amelia were more than just King Bryans princesses,

Nora and Amelia were Bryans Angels.

As time went on, King Bryan and his Angels would go on many an adventure with their faithful pup … but that is a story for a different time …

Sweetest Dreams …

The End.
