Between two rocks was a hard place

25 Dec 2024 7:16 pm

The word became flesh so that we could have what we do not deserve. Love grew and was born and lain in a stone manager. The most powerful being on the earth! Wrapped in swaddling clothes and lain perhaps in hay strewn in a stone manger to make a warm bed for God made man to rest. Kings from the east the lands of the dawning sun followed the heralding star to the rock hewn manager where the King of Kings was born and lain to rest.
This humble King grew and in power He walked, lived and taught and healed and fed. Unfaltering unfailing love, incarnate He grew a carpenters son of earth, the son of God in heaven. No greater love has a man.......than to lay down His life for a friend. Thirty three or so years He lived as a man and grew as the lamb to be sacrificed for us all. He prayed for us until His sweat became as blood. He took our punishment that we can not bare. Then back to a hewn out rock he was taken and lain and sealed within. They thought they had destroyed Him and hid him away forever! But nothing.....not even death could stop what He had to do! He rose again to life evermore and gave us that life to share with Him. The veil was rent and three days later the seal was broken and the stone rolled away! What glory it is that He calls us friend. The King of glory the son of YHWH calls us friend and beckons us come and know Him better. He hung at the hard place between two stones and now lives and intercedes for us for ever more. All hail our King our glory our love our friend.
