Abused Love

Two weeks after the Union Soldier left Freya went back to her life as much as possible reading and rereading his note when she could steal the time. In truth she read it so many times and folded it and refolded it the words were almost fadded out. On the second to the last day of spring she sat under a tree reading a book her mother once read to her. William James came out of the house looking all over for his daughter looking in the barn and everywhere until he spoted her under the tree. "Oh there you are my dear I have looked everywhere for you in the house then Mr. Myer told me you were out here." {He has been keeping a too close of an eye on me for the past two weeks. Known my every move from dawn to dusk.} "What is it Father is something wrong?" Mr. James held out his hand to help her up. "Come with me my sweet Freya. I have something for you." The pair went into the house and into his study where he spends most of his time.

There on the desk sat a wooded box with the name Sophia Anne. "I remember this box it was mother's she never let me play with what's inside said it was too vaulealbe for a child." William went around the desk and opened the box to show her the prize inside. "I believe she would want you to have it for your birthday soon. Do you like it?" Freya was speechless not sure how to talk. She picked up the necklace and held it up to the light. The ruby in the sliver setting reflacted onto the wall almost makinga a rosey color. In truth it was too beautifull. "Can you put it on me please father?" Within seconds the ruby was hanging at the base of Freya's throat. When she turned around she saw Mitchell Myer in the door way. "I have to say that stone brings out the fire in your eyes." Freya gave him a little smirk and walked passed him. "Carefull Mr.Myer someone might think you are actually nice." He laughed a little and cleared his throat. "Now there is that fire I've come to know." Mitchell Myer tried to step closer to her but Freya put up her hands and keep him at bay. "You wouldn't want to get burned by the fire now would you?" Before he could answer her someone knocked on the door.

Mitchell Myer flung the door wide open upset that someone ruined it the fact that he was getting some place with her finally. "Yeah what do you want?!" Freya looked over his shoulder and saw her uncle on the porch stund that someone was that rude. "Hello Uncle Kendall please come inside. Ignore the rude man that answered the door that doesn't belong to him." William James came out of his office when he heard his brother's name spoken. "What do you want Kendall is it money or something?" Kendall James looked at his older brother in shock. "Speaking of rude people there you are. Can't i want to come here and spend time with my big brother and my very beautiful niece?" William James walks over to his brother and gave him a hug. "Kendall this is Mitchell Myer and soon your family. He is going to marry Freya at the end of the summer."

While the men stood there and talked about whatever Freya went up stairs to her room and read her book some more. Within an hour she fell asleep dreaming of the Union Soldier and his sea like eyes. "Southren Fire....." Someone bent down and kissed her forehead waking her up. Freya saw who it was that kissed her forehead thinking it was her father possibley her uncle. But no it was Mitchell Myer. She sat bolt up and moved to the edge of the bed away from him. "What are you doing in here this is my room. LEAVE NOW!!" He sat on the bed trying not to show his true side again. "I was just watching you sleep and thinking soon maybe sooner we can take naps together. Would you like that my sweet Southren Fire?" Mitchell Myer got closer to her almost knocking her off the bed while he kissed her full on the mouth. Freya stopped the kiss and got out of bed and ran from the room and down the stairs far away from that man. She went as far as the barn before she stopped to catch her breath. {How did he know that name only Johnothan Rosemen calls me that no one else. What is he playing it by calling me southren fire?}

After a few minutes Freya's cousin came up the walk humming to himself carrying a bottle of a very fine wine. "Oh hello Freya what are you doing here? I mean out here. Isn't it dinner time? Oh Father forgot this wine on the table our head house boy Nathenal told me to bring it over. Is something wrong you look sick." Ayden got closer to her and tried to see what the problem was. "I'm fine Ayden I just needed to get away from Mr. Myer. he was drving me a up a wall." He gave her a closer look to see if he tell if she was lying. "What are you hidding Freya it's something I can tell." She rolled her eyes at him and walked off trying to hide the truth from Ayden. The door of house flew open and Mitchell Myer came rushing out and grabbing Freya by the arms. "I've tried to be nice to you and you have been nothing but rude to me. Now you are going to knock it off and start acting like my soon to be wife if not then we'll see when the time comes." while he yelled at the young lady of the house he shock her so hard that her necklace fell to the ground. Before she could reach down and get it Mitchell Myer grabbed it and stuffed it in his pocket. "I'll be keeping this until you behave."

Mr. Myer started to the door again and turned back and saw Ayden there and started towards him. "If you so dare to tell your father or her father you'll get it worse then your dear cousin. Help me by keeping Freya in line. Now I believe it's time for dinner come soon to be wife now!" Mitchell marched over to Freya and grabbed her and pulled her to the house. She turned to Ayden and he mouthed are you ok. She nodded her head saying don't worry i have a plan. A while later while everyone slept Freya crept into Mitchell's room to look for her mother's necklace. For a second she watched him sleep thinking how easy it would be to put a pillow on his face until.... No she must not even though it's what her heart's deepest wish. Freya started searching through his things trying not to wake the beast. She finally found it in his under clothes draw along with a note from a girl Lavender Rose. As she started to read the note a feeling crept on her like she was being watched. "You know you really shouldn't go through a man's things. Because you never know when you'll get caught." She glared at him trying not to show her fear. "who is Lavender Rose? Someone else you hurt?" Mitchell Myer grabbed Freya by the back of the neck and slammed her head into the desk knocking her out. He took back the note and necklace and stuffed them back where they were. Mr. Myer picked up the lady of the house and took her back to bed. When he put the covers on her he whispered. "You really should have listened about crossing me. Next time you'll know better."

The next morning Freya woke up to a cold clothe on her forehead. "Easy now girly you hit your head kind of bad. You have a cut the same size as our town. How do you feel?" Theadora asked trying to clean out the cut. She put her hand to her forehead to feel the cut and it all came back to her in the blink of an eye how she got it and the name Lavender Rose. Mr.James came into the room to check on his only family left. "Good morning my sweet girl can you tell me what happened to your head?" The beast himself came into the room looking as if he cared. "Yes Miss. James please tell us what happened to your head." Freya took a deep breath and looked away from the man to be her husband by force. "I tripped coming back from the outhouse. You know how i am. I'll fine Father." Mr. James moved closer to Freya and kissed the top of her head. "Maybe you should take easy today. Rest for a while Theodora will bring up some breakfast for you in a bite." When everyone left the room Freya took the note from the Union Soldier out of the draw by her bed. Reading it for the millionth time she prayed that she came make it for another two weeks. When she sees him again along with her heart.
