A Unique Friendship
Not a single day goes by when I don’t wait eagerly to see her bright happy face and dazzling wide smile. Being the punctual kind of person that she has always been, I don’t need to wait for long before she makes her warm presence felt, as she takes her seat in front of me and the sigh of relief she heaves, as soon as she lays her eyes on me.
I have never seen anyone feel so happy and content to see me as she does and that’s why she’s been my favorite for the past 5 years or so. Yes, it’s been a long time, but with her, time just seems to fly by. Her radiance, positive attitude towards life and happy-go-lucky nature can make even the saddest of human beings feel cheerful.
I can still remember the first day I met her. She was dressed in formals with her hair neatly tied back in a long ponytail. The system administrator had just introduced us to each other and she was genuinely excited and happy to meet me… and so was I. I did not fail to notice her long polished nails as she extended her hand to greet me.
With each passing day, we have come to know each other closely. In fact, she loves to have me at her home on weekends and flaunt me in front of her friends and family.
Though I have hardly seen her upset, there have been days when I have caught her silently crying in her handkerchief, trying to hide her miseries from others and struggling to put up a strong face. For the world, she continues to be a strong headed girl, but I know that she has a warm and sensitive side to her, which makes her an idol women for me.
The other day I saw her staring blankly towards me. I was sure she was upset about something and was trying to find a solution to her problem. I have often seen her hold that expression and so I knew. Though, I so much wanted to reach out to her, comfort her and hold her hand to say that things will be fine, I just didn’t know HOW? At times you can feel so helpless.
Today however, she was back to her original cheerful self and I felt so relieved to see her smiling face back.
Though, I have had many friends over the years, I don’t think anybody can replace the bonding and trust we two have shared with each other in spite of me being a simple Laptop!!!
