A short story- Part Two
A short story [Part Two]
Social Lubrication & Miscellaneous (Part Two)
Rene had a committment today. He will help his neighbor with the early pick up from the school his neighbors' kids attend to. According to the planner he got out from the office around 11 AM. He has all the goodwill to comeback and make up for those hours.
He is not optimistic as other days. Today is jampacked bumper to bumper along the freeway with a rain-soaked merger ramp for the connecting full cloverleaf flyover. But he decided to keep his prior committments.
He returned to the office right at half past one. He dropped the kids to YMCA, and the parents will pick them up from there.
Rene, a representative in a customer facing call center works around the toll free hotline to receive calls and talk to the people reaching out to the hotline with absolute health issues with troubled mental psyche and he takes personal keen interest to undergo specific skill sets building community servitude introspection, addendum on a voluntary basis, so that there is no further call transfer situations popping up amongst life threatening emergencies, with short lived, intense sporadic in nature of these calls alongwith the system bringing frequently observational oncoming calls from everywhere, nationwide.
During the waiting period of another call, he could recall about the hand written note the neighbors' kid handed to him. In an utter rush , he could hardly talk but took the note and they parted for the day. After receiving the note ,he kept it in the wallet and expected unmindfully that it should be remaining intact as it was given to him, since then.
It was a specific diary page. She tore the diary page.
Rene could hear her voice. Her name is Ruxana.
Dear Rene, you always charm me. Most of all, you give me a healthy feeling that I am a straight mind and I am striving along the straight path to have a straight husband Insha'Allah one day. Will you scold me for writing these lines? Everybody scolds me these days and misbehave with me. Would you be my friend?
Rene was speechless. The girl is hardly eleven . And being around the 25th birthday in the corner, he could infer a girl idiosyncretic for writing these lines. But he felt overwhelming sadness is rehearsing on an uncomfortable mood badly in need to be stable now.
Here we all live. We eat, satiate, feel festive but mostly we live.
In lingering godfearing ways.
As God is needless.
We need God, beyond all these.
Our mother, with a seamstress with eternity waiting underneath to intertwine a streak of moonlight!
