A Need For Education About Spirits
Tumi grew up in a city full of different kinds of traditional healers. Some were witches and some were real traditional healers. Every end of the year they hosted their ceremonies. Where they met together with other traditional healers. From different locations or areas nearby! They spent the night performing different kind of rituals. Apart from praising their own ancestors and the event was hosted in December of every year. Tumi was a boy who used to play with every boy in his extension. As he had a lot of toys, from cars, boats, soldiers, policemen. To swords, armor, bicycle and many more different toys.
He would spend the entire morning and afternoon on the weekends. Playing with his toys, cousin, young brother, sister and friends. Some he knew and some were attracted by his toys. They had just moved into their new home. With his family and was instructed to take care of his toys. Apart from staying or playing within the yard as he lost his shoes. At a park in a different extension. He came back home one afternoon without his pair of Adidas Superstar shoes. That he only wore three times ever since he purchased it. His grandfather bought it for him to wear on Christmas and New Year. It is a thing for South African kids to wear new clothes on every Christmas and New Year.
That is what makes December more special in South Africa. The new clothes are taken as Gifts. Some parents make it a point that they purchased real Gifts. For their families and mainly kids. Tumi’s lived with his grandmother who was a traditional leader. She only trained them as she was still alive. His mother and father were no longer together. His grandfather used to transport the traditional healer’s. As he was a famous taxi owner who was known by the entire world. The traditional healer’s hosted their ceremony in a house. Whereby one of Tumi’s friend, ‘Musa’ lived in.
Tumi met Musa through Karch, he was Tumi’s best friend. They all played at Tumi’s home every weekend and afternoon. When they came back from school. They stopped playing together just after Tumi lost almost all of his toys. And injured his head at school while playing soccer. He hit one of the school poles with the side of his head. It injured his eye on the right side. Made him bleed and that made the teachers to cut off their lunch time. To try and stop the blood coming out of his skin just above his eye on the right side . And below his eyebrow on the right side of his head. He came back home and failed to watch the television.
As it pained him and the incident took place on a Friday the beginning of the weekend. Tumi spent the entire weekend failing to watch the television. He was forced to put on his grandmother’s sunglasses. Tumi was inside the house when his friend stole his toy. Musa had taken his armor just as he took a nap. He was tried from playing with his toys the entire day. Musa took the armor with Tumi’s grandmother watching and shouting out his name. He ran away with the armor never stopped or looked back. Did so as he was scared of Tumi’s grandma. Who was angry, furious and, kept on shouting at him running away. The situation worsened as Tumi’s grandfather was feared. So Musa’s grandma decided to sweep the street he drove his Yellow Porsche 911.
His Brown Taxi as the King of a certain country. He went there angry and had planned to confiscate the toy. He never found it so he decided to threaten the family. Might say there was a fight in-between Tumi’s grandfather and Musa’s grandmother. Same year in December just after the traditional healer’s hosted their ceremony. Tumi’s grandfather passed away and it broke his heart as his real father had passed away. The enemy remained unknown or cause of death. The family had decided to have him buried in
January. They spent their entire festive season without cerebrating or having any kind of fun.
………………….. five year later ………………….
Tumi had visited the same street Musa lived in. He went there to visit Musa’s neighbor. He found the same armor on the floor. The kids next door were playing with it. It was like nothing had happened it broke Tumi’s heart. Brought back a few memories, some were good and, some were bad memories. It made him investigate more about his past. Which then forced for him to find out. He was attached to the dog next door. Could not feel a thing but most of the dog’s injuries were the same as his injuries. One thing that hurt him the most is that Musa’s grandmother was alive. He imagined himself a spy as he managed to infiltrate her home. Till he showed her dog that had just given birth to seven puppies.
Five puppies were sold to the neighbors nearby. One dog that remained in the house was him and the other was a partner. To accompany the dog mainly him. He was still a teenager and there was nothing he could do but fight for himself. That is when the worst happened. One of Musa’s grandmother’s grandchildren. Decided to start hurting the dog and Tumi was not well aware of the attacks at that time. She had decided to hurt the dog’s testicles. Which in turn hurt Tumi’s testicles in a fight he was involved in. His opponent had squeeze his testicles the way the dog’s testicles were squeezed. Tumi was not sure if he was injured as he had not planted certain trees.
To help him feel everything that happens to him and the dog. As a way of showing that he was not alone. He managed to make Musa’s grandma’s granddaughter to commit suicide. Apart from killing Musa’s grandmother the same way his grandfather passed away. And what pained him the most was his grandmother. Whom had also passed away like nothing had happened to her two years after his grandfather passed away. As if she was not murdered and no case could have been opened up for stolen toys. That settled out his debt even though it did not bring back his grandparents. A few years later just after Tumi woke up with three Clover trees planted in his home next to the toilet.
He then begun believing that magic does exist in real life. Feeling everything the dog feels and goes through. First he had to deal with a second head injury to the right eye. Even though he was not sure how it would happen. Tumi saw the dog with an injured eye or fresh scar above it’s eye. His eye on the right side had been shaking in a way it felt as if it was to jump out of his skull. It shook for two days and after every few hours. There was a time it shook for about thirty minutes. He tired to put a piece of paper above his eye but it never stopped. A few days later one of the boys in his community had a injured eye. His entire eye was covered up in cotton.
He believed that it was a reversal and that an Angel of sent by God came to rescue him. He kept quiet and said nothing to his mother and father or younger sister. Things turned worse as the same dog’s testicles were rotten, huge. And injured in a way that they looked scary.
Tumi then immediately begun having problems with walking around. As his testicles kept on getting squeezed by both his every time he walked. The skin around his testicles became long in a way that it showed when he put on his underwear. Some of his friends said he had a big peninsula or might have enlarged it. He now sought out to find a solution for all his endless problems. Not to mention that he was now sure that his spirit was attached to the same dog. He knew the dog’s name and how it lived all this years. Truth was that he was mainly a enemy that had to die for his grandfather’s death. He was not sure what to do next, but had some proof and where to start. All he knew was that he was a big enemy of the community. Apart from that he really had to die for his community to have peace. As almost all traditional healer’s in city attended the ceremony. Musa’s grandmother was famous just like Tumi’s grandparents.
