You were made to think that you can fight against darkness.
The truth is, you cannot fight a thing in its own domain.
The reason you see a need to fight darkness is the absence of light from within.
Unlearn all that has crippled your light.
Be awakened. Be enlightened. Then come before darkness, and it will disappear, for it cannot contend with light.

"Don't try to coerce respect through intimidation or obsequiousness - these strategies undermine self-worth and lead to frustration. Authentic respect cannot be compelled; it stems from others' own judgments and choices. Instead of trying to control others' behavior, focus on self-respect and upholding your own standards of integrity. Lead by example through principled and rational responses that speak for themselves. By doing so, you'll maintain personal power and demonstrate true character."

A black ringlet curls to lie
at the nape of her neck,
glistening with sweat
in the evaporate moonlight...
This is what I remember
now that I cannot forget.
And tonight,
if I have forgotten her name,
I remember...
rigid wire and white lace
half-impressed in her flesh,
our soft cries, like regret
...the enameled white clips
of her bra strap
still inscribe dimpled marks
that my kisses erase...
now that I have forgotten her face.

Trapped in a burning house
Wired with fear and self doubt,
I pretended one day I'd be saved.
But I'd rather jump and fall,
and live crippled and flawed,
than to melt to a cowardly grave.
So I Jumped!%
