Ground hog day
Groundhog Day
Same four walls, same aching head,
same bitter tea, same empty bread.
Same street outside with the sirens loud,
same slow shuffle through the same old crowd.
Same pointless talk, same hollow smile,
same heavy heart that’s not worth the while.
Same bed at night where I lie and pray,
to wake to a world that ain’t this day.
But it’s the same grey sky, the same worn floor,
the same old fight I’ve fought before.
No end in sight, no light, no say —
just dying a little, day after day.
And if tomorrow comes, I’ll wear the same skin,
play the same game I’ll never win.
Life on a loop with no escape key,
a prison built deep inside of me.
