Age Shuffles In

Age shuffles in
Feet wrapped in torn rags
from walking the broken, dusty roads of life.
Scarred and calloused,
From a thousand trips.

You sit and gently rub travel weary feet,
And remember times of plenty
Young love, dancing, skipping……..
So long ago.

You look down at feet
That once led to new adventures and challenges.
and find yourself smiling.

Where did it all go?
When did it become the past?

Rested, you step out once more
slower now…………………….
down the road of life.

Ah, so poignant, nostalgic, and on point. Exactly what I was thinking last week, but did not believe I could express in the best way possible, but you did Toni. Happy Easter weekend, my friend.
