Farewell To a Great Man

As I watch the dawn,
I take time to mourn,
the passing of a great man,
as he goes to take God’s hand.

I feel heartbreaking grief,
which is beyond belief.
But this too will pass,
through time’s ever-flowing hourglass.

He was always my rock,
by which I took stock.
He always had advice,
about everything and life.

He garnered great respect,
for his knowledge and depth.
He had a heart of pure gold,
and sympathy untold.

His memory will live on,
even though from this life he has gone.

Thanks for sharing this... exposing your thoughts through your unique poetic style. Meanwhile, I greet you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Have a blessed day.
