Match-Making
He boarded the train
tip-tapping the floor
with his white and red bottomed stick.
He stretched out his hand
helping her onto the suburb
making the team of four.
They sat on the moving floor,
patted and chatted
with peculiar sounds
ignoring the strange voices
touching each other’s faces,
groped into things they brought
through their inner eyes.
I tried to hear their conversation
to check the intimacy to match
the right pairs.
But Oh!
they alighted at the next suburb
by making human chain
of different pairs
and failing my theories of couple-making
