Something Happened

It was never my attention
To be a victim
It was never my attention
To walked on the street all alone
It was never my attention
If only you hear me out.

Mama told me never walk all alone
Mama told me never to make mention of men
Mama told me many things
But mama never told me she was rape

Mama never told me the story
Even when I tried bringing it up
But today
Here I am
Being a victim of rape like my mama

Thanks for sharing this... exposing your thoughts through your unique poetic style. Meanwhile, I greet you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Be blessed.
