Come Back Abraham

Come Back Abraham.

Come thee back Abraham
to do God's solemn work again.
To bring fresh new light into
the darkening hearts of men.

While slavery exists no more,
thanks to your brave, even hand,
the hatred spawned long ago
once again permeates the land.

The dark evil that you fought
and brought to bloody defeat,
rises like a full moon's tide
even to the nation's highest seat.

The racists have risen again,
inciting riotous nights
bearing hatred's symbols
that subvert our human rights.

And so, Abraham, come thee
back to tame the racist dog;
to bring him to heel and to
mute the blatant demagogue.
