Let Me In

Why don't you let me in?
Is your heart and soul safely locked
   behind your front door?
You never gave me a key.

Persistently for over a year
   I've been banging my fists
   upon your door,
but there's no answer.

Can you hear me?
My heart is close to explosion...
Can you feel me beating?
Let me in! Let me in!

There'll be no bruising,
   blood, or body slamming.
I've run out of time and patience;
I'm just going home.

You're oblivious to
   my lifetime love guarantee.
Such an exquisite gift offer,
   tagged with only your name.

It can't be returned
   to the store.
I won't permit
   this suffering anymore.
