Ego

Ego

The human mind is evolving
From cave man to building house
We have traveled the seas and space
We’ve survived the last iced age
Yet our minds are still creatures in caves

Our boys are so fragile they are raised differently at an early age
Mothers raise their boys to be free
They encourage the boys to flirt at three
And cheer them in their boisterous ways, boosting their ego
They make excuses for the boys that can’t stay still
Giving them a pill instead of discipline

Mother’s raise their daughters in transparent chains
Teaching them to have humility and self-control
They are encourage to be orderly
They are treated as if they are the inferior race

The boys who flirt are praised
The girls who reciprocate are shamed
The girls who spread their legs
Get chastened
Ego, deflating, torn
The brave and fanatic girls are an anomaly to our humanity
Girls are only here to carry the next generation
Their mothers remind them

The boys who penetrate
Get to score
Ego, inflating
Ego, so fragile, it echoes
1 woman, 2 women, 3 women, more
Ego, echo, score
Boys get to score, women are called whore

Mothers tell these boys that they are brave and strong
They end up with boys and fathers who only count scores

Mothers treat their girls as if they are transparent
They end up with invisible scars permanently tattoo and counting more

Strong poem. Loads of unfairness unveiled yet continues to happen still nowadays surprisingly. Well done, Daphney.
