A Man They Call a Soldier

I know he is always with me
Wherever he may be
It seems like forever
Until we’ll be together
He has my body, soul, and heart
The ways it’s always been, right from the start
I love this man they call a soldier
Who carries the weight of a nation on his shoulders
Being apart from him is the worst
Although, I know he always puts me first
I love the life that we create
And every time we are together it feels like our first date
Where everything feels so exciting and new
And you just know in your heart it’s true
Sometimes I’m scared when the phone rings
Wondering what news it will bring
I’d be lost without him in my life
For all I know is being his wife
It’s so hard when he is gone for so long
But I will be brave and stay strong
I’m so proud of him, more than words can say
So brave is he putting his life on the line every day
But I know God will bring him home to me
Cuz this is the way it’s supposed to be
Together, as always forever
Given a choice, I know he’d leave me never.
