Is it really there?

When I am feeling alone
I close my eyes
The world comes alive
No-one can hurt me
I am safe

I can see the one I love
And taste her kiss
Although she isn’t real
I can feel her skin
And hear her breathing
But she isn’t really there

It is winter outside
But in here, I smell the forest
I can hear the birds above
Although it is dark and cold
I hear the children play
And feel the sunshine on my skin
But it isn’t really there

I am surrounded by people
Ones I hold dear
I drink in the happiness and joy
Anyone who has hurt me
Doesn’t exist here
I can feel the love of the important ones
Although it isn’t really there

Peace flows freely
I feel at ease
I am at the place I love
If this was a movie
I wouldn’t want it to stop
I don’t normally cry at endings
But this one is different
Is it tears of happiness or of despair?
I open my eyes to the world
Sadly, it is really there

Thanks for sharing this... exposing your thoughts through your unique poetic style. Meanwhile, I greet you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Be blessed.
