A Friend

I'm addicted to your bitterness
The taste of comfort and peace
When midnight comes
And the nightmare's here.

You are here to haunt a living soul
But the soul left with an empty heart
You've become a friend to a sleepless mind
A ghost, a friend, and the nightmare lie.
