Let me cry

Let lines be drawn
Beyond my nerves
Make it unclear to the deaf-blind
This journey of slavery
And undue enrichment
This society and nature
Have yoked us with.

Should I, should I not
Is the daily soliloquy
Of a pregnant Fela Kuti
Lest its made gone
Like the matriarch of the Kuti family.

Oh! silence is made a baton for political ambition
Watching the righteous go to rest
In an inglorious cave and
Enriching our common foes in their nests.

Let me cry
Please don't hold me back.
Where is righteousness,
The rule of law,
Fairness, and justice

A victim of theft
Must mobilize our black friends prior investigation
While one with no guilt must pay prior release.
What a society where truth is hidden
With massive celebration of falsehood
Let me groan without holding back
Our wives are becoming widows
And children fatherless
Yet a mouth to voice out
Is silent for fear of death or ambition.
Where is a place of refuge?
The house of God?
Donate your way to remission, the message 'from God' is.
The Judiciary?
There, the cause list is bigger than the court.
The two be the last hope of the masses
But fail to scratch our backs.

We need help
Yes, one which is based on collective decisions.
Arise oh compatriots
The next generation is calling
Please and please obey
In order to have a better generation.
