At First, Then, and Now

At first... I was nervous to find, a lover so gentle and so kind
Then when we took time away, I constantly replayed...
A motion picture of our date, and how it may not be too late
...To tell you I was wrong, and how I think we may belong.

And then... when you asked me on your ride, I slid readily inside
Unsure of turns and twists, I listened to your list
I put my hands in the air, and let you whisper in my hair
"As our world turns upside down, it's you I want around."

And now... When I go through my day, I think about the next time you'll stay
When we're in bed, I want to hear thoughts that are in your head.
When I travel to my dreamland, I want to reach out and hold your hand.
And when the sun comes seeping through, I want to wake up next to you.

This is a lovely poem that brings a smile on my face. Love gives so many special feelings, it even makes us write poems! Welcome to PoetrySoup :)
