loosely tied around her
yellow cotton dress
tattered white slippers

hazel eyes hold me
fairy tale heart
bland smile
kind embrace
I stand captured
slithering aroma
lighted candle
prayers
Gods company
we devour
suddenly
a cold flame
I awaken
reality invades me
a marble wall stands in silence
bearing a single name
a faded pink rose
I memorize her face
