The Dawn

Why holding on to the past when your future could be standing right in front of you?
Why weeping and crying when to make things better there are lots you need to do?
Why waste time to explain to others when you know they will never walk on your shoe?
Why not cling on the old gold, than to start an opaque good anew?

I thought I was fighting with my demon,
Little did I know I was my very own demon.
The harder I tried, the stronger it pushes back, I thought.
It was I holding back, and the battle was already lost before we even fought.

Losing my grounds, then lost myself in the process
Hurting those that truly love me, then acted careless.
I let myself to suffer self-defeat
Messing things up, and I thought I was happy with it.

Though shattered, I know I am strong enough to put together the broken pieces,
Turning a new page but mend the chapters that needed abridges,
I shall come strongly to sing the new song,
Embracing the arms with which I feel belong.
