Reassurance

They come slowly
Daring to make a sound
Not knowing what they'll find
They pay a special mind
Winding wisps of whispers
Dashing all around
Unsure of what they've found

Materializing white as snow
Luminous and subtle
With long dresses flowing
and halos lightly glowing
Sweet and soft serenity
I find myself praying please don't go
As they softly tip-toe

Looking up at the stars
Gently placed in the sky
A sailing ship guided by the moon
Silently hoping it doesn't fade too soon
Daring dauntlessly to dream
With darkness closing in
Calm nostalgia, and what could have been

Holding my gaze a distant stare
They found their way around my soul
Whispering temptation in my ear
Knowing time is drawing near
Like finding fragile flowers
Along a distant shoreline
They are truly mine

I like this poem a lot, especially the last three lines are a little gem. Welcome to PoetrySoup
