The Dark

I heard suddenly a clamour in the dark,
It wasn't birds' tweeting it wasn't dog's bark.
I found myself in an area restricted,
was I caught or convicted?

Oh that mark on the window,
Oh that blood which seemed to grow.
Oh that eyes which started staring at me,
Oh those blood hands which I could see.

Why this all happens in the dark,
Why can't we hear in it the singing of a skylark.
Why in the dark there is inevitable fear,
Why we do not feel in it pleasant and dear.

Is it because dark is considered as full of ghosts,
Or in the dark the witches boast.
Is it because we cannot see through it,
Oh come on don't sigh a bit!!
