Material World

Modern vanity, well I believe it has gone too far
Everyone doing their makeup in their car.
See yourself in the mirror then run to fix up
Like anyone knows if you've just used the best makeup.

What happened to who we are?
Will we get treated better if we look like star?
I love magazines but afterwards wow....
I need to work on myself I feel like cow!

Media has made humans very insecure.
Is that the right message , I'm not so sure.
Tone it down a bit is all I'm suggesting
So we don't feel like constantly product testing.

Well to get to the point and the bottom and truth .......

Sex sales, so things may never change. Put on your sexiest outfit and then you can't lose !!!!!

Beautiful is a thing that so fluctuates, I hope these shallow times where exterior is everything, will change soon. For me is beauty the person I get to know, without even anything visual. For my real friends are all online, and I have never seen them (some on Skype but that's all). Welcome to PoetrySoup :)

Nicely expressed Kristen though I think times are finally changing and beautiful and sexy are being redefined.
