Head Juke Box

Not a tribute
More a melody of the songs, the words, and the melody
For if you have lived a few decades
The music box in your head
Has stored, sung, mixed and shared
It’s strange how your own mind
Plays DJ to its own kind
It sees a queue in front of you
And Don’t worry be Happy plays the tune
Cause when you worry, you frown and that will bring everybody down
And as it plays along, you can’t help but smile
And suddenly the queue is just you, it’s not a mile
It is wicked too, this DJ in the head
Straight in the middle of a lesson
It puts out loud
We don’t need no education
Yup, straight from days of Floyd
So much for thought control
It quickly shifts to bell bottoms and curls
With Starship blaring that they built their city on rock n roll
The head sends an impulse asap
Little wonder that the feet start to tap

It is just about anyone’s guess
Why on the hardest days
It sings life is a lesson you learn it when you through
From Linkin Park no less

And when you feel
Low on energy,
When fatigue envelops and you can’t run do more no way
It quickly acts up to play
How can you dance the pain away?

So whatever you do in life
Keeping adding to the music library in your head
It’s the different tunes from there
That sometimes makes all humans
Feel and sing as one
