The poem(s) are below...

At Her Door

I watch her ride into the sunset
A knowing smile spread across her face
As if in amusement
Of the grant of a future tryst.

I look around me.
Lying in blood splattered gravel,
Wounds tug at my skin
and my spirit
begging for a release eternal.
Yet a faint hint of gratitude
allays the searing pain in my body
with a bittersweet promise
that my time is yet to come.

Years later,
Watching me drunk with mirth
blind to the surprises woven
in the tapestry of time
She saunters in with sureness.
And her smile of years’ past
strikes like a thunderbolt

Of course, she delighted
in being the guest uninvited.
