Carnival Ride

She taught me,
That life isn't about riding 
in a roller coaster
with straight stainless rails.

rather,
It is riding in a roller coaster 
precariously 
with 360 degree turns, 
ups and downs and rusty rails 
that can snap 
at any given moment.
