My Heart Is Still

My heart stands still as I think of you
Allowing a deepen smile
To began pierring my present mood

I feel a joy swell within
As tho a baby bird that just
Sought wings

I feel as tho a drop of moistureing rain
Has fallen upon my skin
Nurturing it's life
A feeding felt deep within

I see a smile
One only I know
But yet its' meaning
I may never know

What should I think
In this moment of now
A mixture of thoughts
Run free in my mind

Should I love you still
In my world of now
As I did in those days of old

For I do not know now
What's best for me
Nor do I know
How to set my heart free

When my mind is left
To wonder
And silence becomes
A living thing
When feelings
Are being tossed
As tho a feather in the wind

Is the time drawing near
For my heart to close the door
To all the things I thought one day would be
   unexplored desires
   many untraveled miles
   the unlived emotions
These feelings now that lay so protected
Within me

If by chance it is not for me to know
What was the meaning
What was lefted untold

Maybe one day
I will wonder no more
If the time comes
That my heart has silently
Closed its' door
