Frog

They turn up the heat
slowly. Soon it
gets warm, then hot
suddenly they turn it
off. It cools, but
they turn up the heat
again. Rinse. Repeat...
with variation, but
when the water in the pot
starts to boil, the frog cannot
jump out.

This is an intriguing poem, read it literally or metaphorically, both has cruelty in it. Escape is impossible. Well written, and compact imagery... Welcome to PoetrySoup :)
