The Abyss

Darkness surrounds me, it swallows my very soul with no intent of ever returning it to its previous form. All around me are people I love, people I would die for but yet I continue to go under.
My chest gets heavy, it's so hard to breathe. Calm down, let go. But how? Misunderstood or not understood at all, without the ability to put pain into words. If it is even pain.
Pain would be the only thing to shed my light and send it to a deep void lacking any escape only to be locked away forever in my thoughts. I feel trapped but more so lost.
I scream at myself to forget, to feel. Feelings are so easily given but also with feelings comes reality. These walls keep spinning. I grasp onto the consciousness of my existence. The pieces of the well strategic puzzle crumbling beneath the foundation as to which led to what is known as my very being. Possibility? Or is it just a false reality?
