The 'With You' Is Silent

The "With You" is Silent
By:Valerie Odom
February 27,2020

Am i worth more than what my past treated me?
Everything is applied
But my eye suggest that I'm not really apart of the Brady Bunch
Just a hunch
We all've felt it
Some people have smelt it, dealt it
The wires are cut, unconnected
That little voice in my head,
Do I listen? Im so tempted
This feels like something i just "dreamted"
Social media a b-tch for letting me see that post
I'd rather go ghost
I cant be the host for my own funeral
Everyday in the background it gets uncomfortably comfortable
I feel like a bench warmer
Barely made it through try outs
Theres another girl to join her
When people dont speak
Why do tweets feel more and more personal?
And when things dont go right
Why do we feel less like a dime and more like a penny?
Am I worth more than what my past treated me?
Ive had more love in my heart taken and im not even 20
Why do my dreams show me the life I wish i had
Am i that bad
That i cant even reach this type of love
This is all new to me
By the time i could fully understand
The coach has his team and im the one cut
I'd rather escape to my dreams and throw away the key
Am I worth more than what my past treated me?
