The Light

He walks in light, surrounded by light,
He gives light in the darkness of night.
Hands that tremble and shake from disease,
A brain that stops functioning with ease.
His hand gives the blessing of comfort from pain,
I pray greatly that it will sustain.
The tunnel is dark, His countenance bright,
Only He can give solace within His light.
I stumble and fall, my head is in pain,
I have nothing to lose and everything to gain.
I walk in the woods, fresh scents from the rain,
I touch the flowers and forget my pain.
I can see His light just beyond the hill,
My heart beats faster, but my mind is still.
He will touch my hand and lead me up the hill,
And He cleanses all of my earthly ills.
It's time to move on into the night,
It's time to move on into the light.
