Finding Rest

Awake again, I should be sleeping
Bed linens cradle my conscious dreaming.
Contentment found in this quiet interlude
Disclosing my need for companionless refuge.

Evolving in darkness, visions far beyond sight
Futile seem the particulars that can only be seen in light.
Glowing softly the Moon labors, a lesson in purpose.
Heed everyone's needs and you'll merely touch the surface.

Illuminated by my sleepless, cerebral overtime
Jewels of peace start to twinkle, fear eases and subsides.
Kindred are the moon and I, finite our luminesce
Laddering alone, until waning down to rest.

Hi Shawn, Thanks for sharing. I know about sleeplessness as I have written many poems in the wee small hours. For me it's the best time as it is peaceful. Love to read more. Hugs xx.
