Freefall

Holy Spirit of the Stars
Father and Sun
Beautiful calamity
Whispers thee to sing.
Cry hero
For Angels dwell here no longer
But watch.
Serpent
Envious, green
Subtlety of the Earth
An Earth with splendor of God
If not greater!
The pleasure of pain
Matched only by murder
Life sentence in Heavenly prison
Foliage to fire
Dust to dust.
A Garden divided
Must fall!
For luxury comes greater
With restraint; good things
To those who wait!
But love?
What is it if not matrimony?
The Holiest of Unions?
Separation condemned!
Lock me up
In Adam’s rib!
If only for fear of fruitful
Over faithful.
O, sweet taste of sinner’s steps
Beautiful fangs drip
Venom of revenge
Juice of forbidden fruit
Vanity
Lust
Wisdom
Dust
Hunger and thirst at once
In love with the image of myself
I see in you.
Absence
Cruel
Adoration without grieving
Nothing worth keeping!
Eat, darling
Only a taste worth dying for
Is worthy of your tongue
For with a fall comes
A rise!
A wounded Earth
Mourns the taste of Death
But Love!
Dear Love only
Mourns that Death taste as life
So it partakes
And partakes
And partakes each time.
Greedy love!
O God, so generous to mourn
Gives comforting design to the fallen.
