The Girl Across the Seas

Who is this girl I barely know, but somehow seem to care?
She talks to me of everything and thus I see her fair.

For this strange girl I feel I’ve known though we’re so far away,
Another life, perhaps a dream, the thought does seem to weigh.

Who is this girl that makes me feel a sister she should be?
How many times inside my mind I see us drinking tea,

And laughing at the little things that only sisters do,
While watching all the lovely boys that pass our window's view.

Who is this girl who dares to share the secrets of her life?
These letters we send back and forth are read with such delight .

We have so much in common that I never fear its end,
For there is always so much more to share with this dear friend.

Who is this girl I barely know, but talk to with such ease?
A friend I met beyond the “Rift,” the girl across the seas.
