Mother To Child

As I feel you kick I start to think about 
How it will be when you finally arrive
I have been waiting on you 
For a long time now
You are the center of my world
I promise not to let anyone
Harm you or hurt you
I promise to love you, cherish you, and protect you
Be the best mother that I can be
All I ask is for you to love me in return
There will be times when we don’t get along
There will be times when someone might 
Hurt your feelings
Just know that your mommy loves you
And will not let anything bad happen to you
Know that your daddy loves you 
Even if he is not around
If you don’t learn anything else from me
Know this:
You must love yourself
Before you can love
Someone else 
Know that I will always love you
