Long Long Time

I was going to be there for a long long time
Or at least until you said Goodbye
Beyond hurts, "hurt" don't even begin
How the devil so easily and quickly came out of my main friend

And you set me free
By making me feel like I was in chains
I started to lift your fog
And learned to use my brains

Then I realized it was my heart speaking
That my mind didn't belong anywhere
The feelings are the language of the soul
Now for that, even over true love, I began to care

And so many things are being given
My Lord's presents almost daily I've been receiving
You looked like an open door, but this whole time was just a small crack
It took too long to know, but at least in getting to see the truth now I don't lack

There are so many things that I don't care about
That are all other people see
There are so many things that have sunken into the side of my heart
Forever to remain and just be

The good things are now clinging to me
Without me having to put them on weird chains to stay
I learned its what I don't have to do, not what I do have to do
I just let go, gave it to Him, and said to anything and everything just "Okay"

The simple things are where the Gold is at
You don't see it until you learn to accept
I was holding onto what I thought mattered most
Only to see it was taking up extra space & I should've never kept
