The Sorrowful Wine

iI've walked both roads, sipped both wines,
And while one was sorrowful and one divine,
I still can't help but find the sorrowful wine,
Is the wine that I prefer

Broken hearts and sharpened words,
Pain and tears that should never be heard,
The deceitful ways of those bees and birds,
I prefer the sorrowful wine

For the one that dines and sleeps alone,
Is never in search of their heart's home,
They're comfortable in themselves, it's shone
They prefer the sorrowful wine

I've been on both sides, played both teams,
And while one is lonely and one serene,
I still find myself evermore wishing,
For a sip of that sorrowful wine

Darkened eyes and angry tears,
Diminished hopes and realized fears,
Lonely times always drawing near,
And I prefer the sorrowful wine

For the bird that flies through open skies,
Never a mournful tear she cries,
Never facing the sting of lover's eyes
She only tastes the sorrowful wine.
